I always thought I would have my own store. When I was little, I would sell my toys to my friends. We would each take a bedroom in the hall and set up our stores in the doorway. I had a pencil box that served as a cash register. It had lots of little buttons that opened up compartments. I always named my store “Funkytown.” It was probably from the song. “Won’t you take me down, to Funkytown.” I finally knew that what I wanted to sell after I started learning about vintage clothing.

Vintage clothing became something for me to collect, to wear, to fix, and then to sell on eBay back in 2003. And I’ve been doing all of the above since then. I’ve come a long way since that little pencil box. After signing a lease to open June 1, then waiting to open for two months, due to landlord’s setbacks, then I guess I can wait another week. Gives me time to write this post, after all…
